Victor, NY, June 12, 2002 -- Biocube Inc., a US biofiltration manufacturer, announced an agreement to market a new line of manhole, force main, and vent pipe biofilters, designed and manufactured by Bioteg GmbH, a German biofilter company.

Bioteg biofilters have been used successfully throughout Europe to treat odors emanating from sewage manholes and system vent pipes.

Bioteg products offer effective treatment of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and other waste gases while minimizing operating expenses. The filters have averaged a five-year service life without media replacement.

Biocube, Inc. will be offering the products through its national network of manufacturers' representatives. This marketing agreement offers both companies and US customers a number of benefits.

According to Herbert J. Ego, president of Biocube Inc., "Our goal is to be able to meet as many of our customers' odor challenges as possible with the right biofiltration solution for their application. The Bioteg line adds to our ability to quickly address the needs of our customers with application-specific solutions."

Biocube and Bioteg products operate under the same principles. Both utilize the microorganisms present in organic materials to oxidize waste gases and convert them to CO2, H2O and metabolic byproducts in the form of salts.

Both Bioteg and Biocube product lines offer the customer a cost-effective, chemical-free, environmentally friendly way to treat an age-old problem.

Bioteg GmbH is represented in the US by Bioteg Biofilter Systems, LLC of San Diego, CA. They will continue to market the products themselves in the Western United States.

The agreement gives Biocube exclusive rights to market Bioteg's Manhole Biofilters, as well as Bioteg's Vent Pipe and Force Main Biofilters in the Eastern United States.

Inken Mello, US Product Manager, says, "this partnership will offer us instant access to Biocube?s distribution network, as well as to an open-minded customer clientele already convinced of the many advantages of biofiltration. With our innovative passive biofilters, we will be able to complement Biocube?s product line, thereby providing the customer with a complete range of solutions for every application."

Headquartered just outside of Rochester, NY, Biocube manufactures biofiltration odor control systems that use organic media and a patented multi-layer tray system to remove odor-causing hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas from wastewater off-gasses.

Biocube's modular design, low operating cost and minimal maintenance requirements make Biocube Systems a cost-effective solution for environmentally safe odor control in both municipal and industrial wastewater applications.
