PORT WASHINGTON, WI, July 12, 2006 -- Aquarius Technologies Inc. announces the formation of a corporation engaged in the design, manufacture, and marketing of proprietary wastewater treatment processes.

Aquarius Technologies president and CEO Tom Pokorsky served as chairman of the Water Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA) in 1997, when he was president of Sanitaire (now part of ITT Corp.). The company is one of the association's newest members.

The MSABP™ biological process treats wastewater without generating waste sludge. The ELCAT™ catalytic wastewater treatment purifies toxic and non-biodegradable material.

Originally developed by Elif Environmental in Israel in the 1990s, these processes are being managed by Aquarius offices in North America, Israel and Spain.

The patent pending Multi-Stage Activated Biological Process, (MSABP) is an innovative and advanced proprietary process consisting of spatial succession of food chains that leads to a total consumption of waste activated sludge by primary organisms, eliminating the need for sludge handling or disposal. The footprint and operating cost of this system is also less than conventional treatment schemes.

The patented Electro-Catalytic (ELCAT) treatment process offers a high degree of treatment for toxic, and non-biodegradable wastes such as textile dyes, detergents, cyanides, pesticides, herbicides and phenols. Unlike processes that simply add oxygen-containing chlorine compounds, ELCAT is a two stage process based on electrochemical oxidation followed by catalytic oxidation.

MSABP and ELCAT treatment systems are currently in use in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East serving both Municipal and Industrial clients.

Heading up the organization are Pokorsky, chief technical officer Efim Monosov, CFO Thomas M. Thompson, vice president-sales and marketing David D. Lauer, regional manager Richard P. Gannon, and vice president-production and engineering Loras R. Lux. This team has a combined experience in the wastewater industry of 150 years. For more information, contact Lauer at [email protected].
