ALDRIDGE, England, UK, Jan. 6, 2010 -- Severn Trent Water, part of FTSE 100 listed Severn Trent Plc, has signed a three year agreement with managed service provider Azzurri Communications for the provision, support and management of a mobility solution, utilizing iPassConnect™ Mobility Manager from iPass® Inc. for its 1,500 field-based engineers.
Severn Trent is in the process of deploying a new corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that will help to drive efficiency and improved productivity throughout the business. Providing mobile access to this system for its field-based engineers is therefore critical. The solution, built on Azzurri's 'Azzurri Roam' service, provides the flexibility for Severn Trent to tailor a mobile solution to their specific needs, ensuring user acceptance is high from the outset.
The 'Azzurri Roam' service uses the award-winning iPassConnect Mobility Manager software to provide Severn Trent's engineers with secure access to business-critical applications over iPass' network. iPassConnect provides a simple, consistent connection experience across the world's largest virtual network of 3G mobile broadband, over 140,000 Wi-Fi and Ethernet locations and dial-up covering over 165 countries.
Other mobile users at Severn Trent Water will also be given access to the service, which will provide business continuity benefits and more predictable costs for those who travel extensively.
