ARLINGTON, VA, June 3, 2010 -- The Critical Infrastructure Security Summit will convene on June 21-23 at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, VA. The summit will review how utilities can protect their control systems from cyber security threats as compliance requirements increase and new system vulnerabilities arise. The program will highlight the latest technological advancements and regulatory trends within the industrial control systems arena. For a complete listing for the sessions, view the program brochure.

This year's program has been expanded to go beyond SCADA control system security issues from the 2009 agenda and will include enhancing the cyber security of a broader array of industrial control systems. Culture transformation and personnel management, myths and misunderstandings of ICS cyber security, and cyber security strategies for the Smart Grid will also be pertinent components to this year's program.

Some of the speaking faculty organizations include the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Tennessee Valley Authority, U.S. National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST), American Petroleum Institute, U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, and many more.

The Critical Infrastructure Security Summit will feature interactive sessions and real world case studies specifically designed for the electric, water, oil and gas industries. The program is designed to facilitate stakeholder-driven dialogue and peer-to-peer networking opportunities to help industry professionals protect critical infrastructure assets from cyber attack and prepare for new security standards.
