Wastewater treatment system for recycling facility to be provided by AVANTech

Aug. 4, 2010 -- AVANTech Inc. will design and fabricate a wastewater treatment system specifically tailored for the treatment of NURRC wastewater. The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) will remove suspended solids, organics and salts from the wastewater using robust ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) technology.

Approximately two-thirds of the wastewater is recovered as demineralized water (< 5µS/cm) and returned to the facility for reuse. Secondary waste (reject) from the membranes will be treated and dewatered.

AVANTech Inc. performed extensive pilot studies to confirm the optimal approach and confirm the process prior to obtaining regulatory and client approval. "Avantech's has the ability to assess, verify, and develop client specific custom solutions to some of the most difficult wastewater streams. Our diverse skills, knowledge, and experience make us unique to this marketplace. We are pleased to provide NURRC with an effective wastewater treatment solution that allows them to recover wastewater while aiding them in meeting sewer district POTW discharge requirements" stated AVANTech President Jim Braun.
