WHEAT RIDGE, CO, Nov. 10, 2010 -- Water Remediation Technology, LLC (WRT), a Wheat Ridge, Colorado based water treatment company specializing in the removal of radionuclides in drinking water, has named Michael Dimitriou as President. WRT is proud to welcome Mr. Dimitriou, a dynamic water industry professional who will guide WRT's continued growth.

Mr. Dimitriou brings over 30 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment. In his career, Mr. Dimitriou has been in the forefront in the introduction of new and innovative water treatment businesses to the water industry including ozone, membranes, thermal water treatment and reuse, nutrient removal, and membrane bioreactors. He has been involved in both national and international water quality and treatment issues. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Dimitriou formed and directed the introduction of a number of new technologies and companies in the water sector. His experience includes leading in the formation of global water technology engineering, development and acquisition programs, leading in the establishment of a new water treatment division and the development of new membrane and disinfection technologies. Most recently, Mr. Dimitriou served as Vice President and Senior Program Manager of Water & Wastewater Treatment at Jacobs Carter Burgess Inc. a division of Jacobs Engineering Inc.

Before joining Jacobs Carter Burgess, Dimitriou was Director of Strategic Technology for ITT Corporation, Advanced Water Treatment Division (AWT) in Charlotte NC. Other past experiences includes serving as Vice President for the Aquasource Division of Degremont North America in Richmond, VA. Prior to that, Mr. Dimitriou served in numerous senior positions at Degremont and its various subsidiaries, including heading up the Ozonia Subsidiaries as well as the Design Build Business unit. He has been active in industry associations as well, most recently as President of the International Ozone Association (IOA). He has also been active in the American Water Works Association (AWWA), serving on the Board, Executive Committee and as a Council Chair. He has served on the AWWA Research Foundation, the Water Reuse Association and Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association. Mr. Dimitriou has served on a number of USEPA Federal Advisory Committees (FACA) in development of new water quality regulations and provided support on technology and water quality issues.
