• Resource Environmental Solutions opens Center Bayou Wetland Mitigation Bank to service Haynesville Shale operators and infrastructure providers

BATON ROUGE, LA, Jan. 20, 2011 -- Resource Environmental Solutions, LLC (RES) is now conducting wetland ecosystem restoration activities on over 3,040 acres of contiguous properties in Grant Parish, Louisiana. Included in this mitigation complex is the Center Bayou Mitigation Bank, now approved to supply wetland mitigation credits to permittees served by the Vicksburg District of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. Operated by RES subsidiary Sixth Louisiana Resource, LLC, the Center Bayou Mitigation Bank is strategically located adjacent to protected lands along the Red River in the federal Wetland Reserves Program and nearby the Kisatchie National Forest and services a large part of the Haynesville Shale development area in northwestern Louisiana including portions of Caddo, DeSoto, Grant, Natchitoches, Rapides, Red River, Sabine and Winn parishes.

Restoration and protection activities throughout the mitigation complex will enhance property where aquatic resources and functions have been impaired due to conversion of wetlands to agricultural croplands and pasture lands. At the mitigation bank, 1,250 acres of native bottomland hardwood forests will be re-established, rehabilitated, preserved and protected as part of the mitigation bank restoration activities. The results of these efforts include water retention, stream flow improvements, nutrient cycling and enhanced plant and wildlife habitat areas.

Elliott Bouillion, president and CEO of RES noted, "We are pleased to be able to execute large-scale ecosystem restoration projects. RES is conducting wetland and stream restoration activities throughout Louisiana. Through our wetland and stream mitigation banks, RES makes mitigation credits available to offset permittees unavoidable impacts from field operations that adversely affect environmentally sensitive areas, including wetlands. These credits are used by oil and gas producers, midstream operators and infrastructure companies, developers and municipalities. RES remains committed to enabling access to America's vital natural resources in a sustainable, environmentally-responsible manner."
