LEVERKUSEN, Germany, Mar. 14, 2011 -- Specialty chemicals company LANXESS is to increase its prices for Lewatit and Ionac ion exchange resins by up to 10 percent globally. The price increases, which will take immediate effect, are due to the increasing cost of utilities, transportation and raw materials.

The Ion Exchange Resins business unit belongs to the Performance Chemicals segment of LANXESS, which achieved total sales in 2009 of EUR 1.530 billion.

LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with sales of EUR 5.06 billion in 2009 and currently around 14,700 employees in 24 countries.
