PARIS, France, Mar. 28, 2011 -- Veolia Water and European telecom company Orange have teamed up to launch m2o city, an initiative that focuses on remote environmental and water meter reading services.

The m2o city joint venture offers turnkey service through an ultralow consumption radio network that can collect data not only from water meters but also from environmental sensors.

Veolia Water and Orange expect this initiative will help pave the way for a global standard for remote data collection networks.
