Desalination world congress to be held in China

TOPSFIELD, MA, July 20, 2011 -- Tianjin, China has been selected over Durban, South Africa to host the 2013 International Desalination Association (IDA) World Congress on Desalination and Water Reuse.

Patricia Burke, secretary general of the IDA, said: "China is widely recognised as an important emerging market in desalination and water reuse."

The event is held every two years and the 2011 World Congress will be held in Perth, Australia following the 2009 event in Dubai.
