LUTON, England, Feb. 28, 2012 -- The Macao Water Supply Company has selected Elster (NYSE: ELT) to supply up to an additional 14,500 V100 volumetric water meters and 51 commercial single-jet meters over the next 12 months.

This follows Macao Water's selection of Elster in May 2011 to supply up to 26,000 V100 volumetric water meters and 600 meters out of Elster's bulk water meter portfolio, including the innovative Q4000, as part of their extended metering programs in 2011.

Macao Water Supply Company supplies more than 500,000 people in Macau with water services. Elster already has 100,000 water meters installed in Macau.

"We are impressed with the performance of the V100 volumetric meter. Elster's water meters have supported us with our water management programs for over 60 years," said Oscar Chu, deputy general manager for Macao Water.

Available in sizes from 15mm to 40mm, V100 volumetric meters perform in accordance with international ISO 4064 standards. The product offers high accuracy, long-life, low maintenance and tamper-proof operation.

The S2000 bulk meter, available in sizes 40mm to 100mm, offers reliable and economical performance to international ISO 4064 standards in a variety of applications. These include the measurement of water flow in commercial buildings, such as office blocks, hospitals, schools and factories where there are large flow variations. The product is suitable for improved low flow detection, thus enhancing leakage identification and distribution management.

"Elster's highly accurate water metering technology has helped Macao Water to address the challenges of a highly populated territory and increasing water demand by allowing them to closely monitor and manage its water resource," commented Gary Vincent, regional general manager for Elster's water metering business.
