DIY drainage basin configurator design program now available on ADS website

HILLIARD, OH, June 4, 2012 -- HDPE pipe maker Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. (ADS) has a new program on its website that automatically designs a Nyloplast® drain structure. Entering just minimal information enables the proprietary software to customize a basin for any project.

Input sections include type of pipe, basin diameter, and details for each branch including diameter, angle plus invert height. The program then provides a drawing and list of components that can be immediately ordered or saved in the user's private account. The Custom Basin Configurator can be found at www.ads-pipe.com, or at www.basinconfigurator.com.

"The program is quite remarkable," said Jim Clemans, Vice President of Allied Products, ADS, "because it automatically prevents any miscalculation such as selecting a branch diameter that is larger than the basin diameter and then guides you to the correct measurement."

Nyloplast basins combine ductile iron grates with a rugged, heavy -- duty PVC structure. The product line available from ADS includes inline drains, drain basins, curb inlet structures, road and highway structures and drop-in grates which can be used for any underground storm drain pipe system.

"With this new program, and because all Nyloplast drainage basins are customized, system designers, distributors or the actual end user will receive a product that fits their particular application and arrives on the job site ready to install, "Clemans continued. "This means the labor is minimal. With an installation this quick, safe and simple, the cost savings are apparent and immediate."
