National water quality trading roundtable discussion to be held in Cincinnati

On July 17-18, the U.S. Water Alliance will convene the National Roundtable on Water Quality Trading held in Cincinnati, Ohio.

WASHINGTON, DC, June 28, 2013 -- On July 17-18, the National Roundtable on Water Quality Trading will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, by the U.S. Water Alliance, in collaboration with the Electric Power Research Institute, The Freshwater Trust, Willamette Partnership, and World Resources Institute.

At the meeting, attendees will hear and discuss a diversity of views and experiences, from key policy makers, industry and agriculture leaders, environmental groups, and other stakeholders leading discussions on the hottest topics and opportunities. Further, the dialogue will highlight advances in water quality trading over the past ten years, as well as the growing need for improving science, developing standards and greater transparency and accountability.

Keynote speakers will include the irrepressible Dave White, recently retired Chief of the Natural Resources Conservation Service with his views on innovative approaches, and newly appointed President Andrew McElwaine, American Farmland Trust with his views on environmental collaboration.

"It has been a decade since EPA's Water Quality Trading Policy was established," explains Ben Grumbles, President of the U.S. Water Alliance. "America needs to pick up the pace with improved tools, better results, and greater trust."
