CH2M HILL has been selected as a recipient of the Water Environment Federation's Safety Award for its successes at Fort Campbell, KY.

DENVER, CO, Aug. 14, 2013 -- CH2M HILL, a global full-service consulting, design, construction and operations firm, has been selected as a recipient of the Water Environment Federation's (WEF) Safety Award for its exemplary safety program at the Fort Campbell Project in Kentucky. The award will be presented at WEFTEC® 2013, WEF's annual conference this October in Chicago, Ill.

The WEF Safety Award encourages active and effective safety programs in the water environment field by recognizing entities that invest their resources to develop and adopt high-quality safety programs within their own culture and who also seek opportunities to share these programs within the water industry.

"Safety is embedded in everything we do," said Brad Starkey, CH2M HILL Health, Safety, and Environment Director for the Government Facilities & Infrastructure Business Group. "We are extremely proud to be recognized by WEF for our commitment to the Fort Campbell safety program. Making sure our team works safe and returns home at the end of each workday uninjured is a priority for us."

CH2M HILL operates the water and wastewater treatment plant, as well as the distribution and collection systems at Fort Campbell, home to the United States Army’s 101st Airborne Division and its supporting units. The Fort Campbell Project’s safety program is leading the industry with zero OSHA recordable injuries in the last 65 months -- an impressive accomplishment with 36 personnel and more than 380,000 labor hours. This record is not unique to Fort Campbell; globally CH2M HILL's Water Business Group celebrated a major milestone in June, accumulating 15 million consecutive work-hours without a day away/restricted time case (DART).
