May 10, 2014 -- Barthauer Software GmbH, a provider of software for infrastructure and network management, presented a comprehensive portfolio with innovations and new developments at IFAT 2014 held in Munich, Germany, May 5-9.

BARTHAUER presented the new and fully-revised version of BaSYS, the network information system, with BaSYS 9. Highlights include support for innovative technologies, such as 3D visualization, touchscreen control and the BaSYS/GeoDS web portal solution. Solid and practical BaSYS extensions for current topics, including land drainage and the indirect discharger cadastre, were offered as well along with flexible and product-specific interfaces.

With the new Geoobjects Design Studio (GeoDS), BARTHAUER also introduced a powerful tool for creating custom cadastres and modules for any application. The new BaSYS Compact Series was another premiere: a streamlined product line for specific areas of network management. BaSYS 9 as a native 64-bit application offers large performance improvements over preceding versions by employing new technologies and supporting spatial databases.

Accordingly, visitors observed how BaSYS 9 can also be effectively operated by touchscreen and how the 3D visualization of sewer and distribution networks directly in BARTHAUER Network Navigator makes workflows easier. The FME and DHI Mike Urban interfaces as well as a link to the external 3D visualization system VIS-All® 3D expand the diverse interfacing and integration possibilities between external applications and BARTHAUER products.

With GeoDS, BARTHAUER also presented a tool that allows even users without any programming knowledge to create custom cadastres or modules for the administration of any geoobjects and all municipal inventory. The cadastres created with GeoDS -- resultant of the BARTHAUER multi-platform concept -- offer the possibility of choosing the most suitable respective graphical interface from GIS/CAD systems and the proper database management system for central data storage under a uniform user interface. Clear advantages for the user entail the greatest possible freedom of choice and investment security.

The BaSYS/GeoDS web portal solution for internet-based information and services along with the solution packages of the new Compact Series were also presented. The Compact Series offers tools proven in practice for specific areas of network management. Standalone packages from the Compact Series can be used where a more comprehensive network information system is not needed, or even to complement existing network information systems from other providers that may not offer the desired functions. The first product in the series is PISA Compact -- the intelligent software solution proven in practice for the efficient and comprehensive planning of sewer remediation.
