American Water to play active role at NAWC 2015 Infrastructure Summit

American Water recently announced that the company will play an active role in the National Association of Water Companies' 2015 Southeast Water Infrastructure Summit, taking place at on Thursday, April 30, at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, S.C.

VOORHEES, NJ, April 28, 2015 -- American Water (AW), the nation's largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company, recently announced that the company will play an active role in the National Association of Water Companies' (NAWC) 2015 Southeast Water Infrastructure Summit, taking place on Thursday, April 30, at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, S.C.

American Water will have a strong presence at the conference with several presenters. These include the following:

  • Deron Allen, Tennessee AW president and chapter president of the Southeast NAWC, will kick off the summit with opening remarks.
  • Mark Strauss, senior vice president of Corporate Strategy and Business Development, will discuss the benefits of public-private partnerships in regards to addressing ongoing infrastructure needs in the southeast metropolitan cities, including best practices, innovative solutions, troubled systems, tight financials, and proven methods.
  • Nick Rowe, Central Division senior vice president, will participate in an executive roundtable with other leaders from the southeast largest water companies to discuss a variety of issues including current regulatory challenges, future protections and trends, the energy-water nexus, infrastructure challenges, best practices, and more.
  • David Choate, president of the Contract Services Group of AW Enterprises, Inc., a subsidiary of AW, will discuss recent advances in water reuse and desalination.
  • Dr. Mark LeChevallier, director of Innovation & Environmental Stewardship, will participate in an environmental roundtable to discuss AW's Innovation Development Program.
