Houston renews five-year, $30M contract for water, wastewater operations, maintenance

Severn Trent Services - North America announced that the City of Houston has renewed a five-year contract worth $30 million with the company for the operation and maintenance of its water and wastewater plant and maintenance of its collection and distribution systems.

HORSHAM, PA, Aug. 26, 2015 -- Severn Trent Services (STS) - North America, an operator of water and wastewater assets, recently announced that the City of Houston has renewed a five-year contract worth $30 million with the company for the operation and maintenance of its water and wastewater plant and maintenance of its collection and distribution systems in the Kingwood area of the city.

The comprehensive contract includes five wastewater treatment facilities with a total treatment capacity of 15.43 million gallons per day and 13 water treatment plants with a total average of 250 million gallons per month, as well as 24 off-site water wells. The maintenance of its collection and distribution system includes 58 sewage pump stations, 287 miles of sewers, 315 water distribution lines, 3,000 fire hydrants, and 7,600 water valves.
