Xylem has announced two significant leadership appointments, which are effective October 1, 2015.

RYE BROOK, NY, Sept. 17, 2015 -- Today, Xylem Inc., a company dedicated to solving challenging water issues, announced two significant leadership appointments, which are effective October 1, 2015. Colin Sabol has been named Senior Vice President (VP) and President, Analytics and Treatment; and David Flinton, currently VP, Marketing and Engineering for the company's Applied Water Systems (AWS) division, has been promoted to Senior VP and President, Dewatering.

Colin Sabol

In this role, Sabol will lead the global operations of the two business divisions of analytics and treatment. Xylem's analytics brands deliver precise measurement for water and wastewater, environmental, and multiple industrial applications, and its treatment business provides integrated solutions that enable the reuse of water and wastewater.

Sabol most recently served as Senior VP and President, Dewatering for the company. He will continue to serve on the Senior Leadership Team and report to Xylem President and CEO Patrick Decker. Further, he will operate out of the corporate headquarters in Rye Brook, N.Y. Sabol replaces Chris McIntire, who has accepted a position outside the company. He will remain at Xylem through the end of the month to ensure a smooth transition.

Sabol, 48, was named Senior VP and President of Xylem's Dewatering business in 2013, where he led the global operations of the division including strategy, sales and marketing, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain. He previously served as Chief Strategy and Growth Officer of Xylem, a position he was named to when the company was formed from the spinoff of the water businesses of ITT Corporation in 2011.

He joined ITT in 2006 as VP, Marketing and Business Development for Fluid and Motion Control. Before joining ITT, Sabol held a variety of managerial positions over 17 years at General Electric, including Chief Financial Officer for GE Energy Services and VP, Mergers & Acquisitions for GE Corporate. He also led the acquisitions that became GE Water and served as Chief Marketing Officer of that business.

Sabol currently serves as Chairman of Xylem Watermark, the company’s corporate citizenship and social investment program. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in materials engineering from Alfred University in New York.

David Flinton

Flinton will be responsible for all aspects of Xylem's dewatering operations globally, including strategy, sales and marketing, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain. Xylem is a specialist in delivering reliable portable pumps for dewatering, bypass and drainage applications through both rentals and sales. In this role, Flinton will also be a member of the Xylem Senior Leadership Team and report to Decker. He will operate out of the Dewatering headquarters in Bridgeport, N.J.

Flinton, 44, was named VP, Engineering and Marketing for Xylem's AWS division in 2013, where he was responsible for three AWS business units, as well as marketing communications, business intelligence, engineering services, innovation and technology, and e-business.

Previously, he served as VP, Global Product Management for AWS and VP, Strategy and Business Planning for Xylem’s former Water Solutions division in Sundbyberg, Sweden. He joined ITT in 1997 and spent 10 years in a series of increasingly responsible positions in the company's Industrial Products group. Prior to joining the company, he held various engineering positions for Procter & Gamble and Werner Pump.

Flinton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., and an MBA from the University of Rochester William E. Simon School of Business.

Conclusion

"At Xylem, we are fortunate to have strong business leaders that bring to bear insightful strategic viewpoints along with the sharp executional skills required to operate in today's global market," said Decker. "Colin has been an outstanding leader of our dewatering business, capitalizing on opportunities to expand our global presence while also streamlining operations to drive productivity in challenging market conditions. Dave, over nearly two decades with the company, has been a consistent driver of solutions that focus on our customers’ current and emerging needs, accelerating innovation and expanding our revenue opportunities. Both of these executives will play key roles in helping us advance Xylem's strategic priorities."
