NORWOOD, MA, FEB 26, 2018 -- GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc., a leading geotechnical and environmental consulting firm, today announced the acquisition of Civil Dynamics (CD), a New Jersey-based consulting firm recognized as a regional leader in dam engineering.

GZA has conducted more than 1,500 dam engineering inspections and projects nationally over the last 30 years and had been seeking to increase its presence in New Jersey. The acquisition of CD significantly strengthens its dam and water resource capabilities in the New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania region. Operating as Civil Dynamics, a division of GZA, CD's personnel will join GZA's Fairfield, N.J., office, close to CD's current headquarters in Stockholm, N.J.

GZA President and CEO Bill Hadge said: "Throughout its 32 years in business, CD has earned a premier reputation as a trusted consultant on dam engineering, inspection, and maintenance for public and private water suppliers, lake communities, and hydropower clients. We've been honored to partner with them on many projects over the years, and now we're excited to bring their outstanding team into GZA to strengthen our ability to serve clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic and beyond."

CD President Chris Adams added: "Formally joining GZA after our years of positive and productive business partnerships will allow us to continue to serve our existing clients while strengthening our ability to consult and advise on challenging dam and civil engineering projects, not just in our region but throughout the GZA service footprint. All of us at CD are excited to take our practice to the next level with GZA."
