Kentucky American Water acquires assets of Eastern Rockcastle Water Association

Livingston-based water system adds 610 customers to the American Water family.

LEXINGTON, KY, MARCH 1, 2018 -- Kentucky American Water announced today that it has acquired the water assets of Eastern Rockcastle Water Association in Livingston, Ky., in Rockcastle County. The transaction, completed today, adds approximately 610 water customers in Rockcastle and Jackson counties to the Kentucky American Water system. The acquisition of the system expands the company's total service area to portions of 14 Kentucky counties.

"We are pleased to welcome Eastern Rockcastle Water Association customers to Kentucky American Water," said Nick Rowe, president of Kentucky American Water. "Our company will bring to the community 24-hour customer service for water service emergencies, unique water system expertise, and additional capital resources for water infrastructure investment. We look forward to providing excellent service to these new customers and being an active corporate citizen in the community."
