Electric-operated pinch valves

Feb. 11, 2015

The Surface Water Treatment Plant in Tampa, Fla., relies on Onyx 1" CER valves for both disinfection and pH control. By standardizing on EPDM synthetic sleeves, the same valves can be used for both bleach disinfectant and lime slurry for treating runoff water. The unique lost-motion valve stem design provides modulating service that exhibits precise, stable flow control combined with wide turn-down plus fast response to process upsets. The absence of a stuffing box alleviates concerns about valve stem leakage of aggressive chemicals, while the elastomer sleeve easily handles the abrasive lime slurry used for pH control.
