Kamstrup Water Metering, based in Atlanta, Ga., offers an automated meter reading system that uses a smartphone or tablet to read its smart meters. The AMR system is called READy and it's simple to install and use; scanning a QR code is just one of the few, simple steps it takes to set it up. READy uses Google Maps to show the location of each meter. Once all meters are read, the data can be sent straight to the billing software from the field.
