Pipe saw

Blount International has introduced the new PowerGrit™ Utility Saw Chain designed for cutting pipe in the ground. Contractors are able to cut from one position with far less excavation and effort than required by prior methods – eliminating the need to excavate all the way around a ductile iron water pipe and crawl underneath to complete a cut. The chain features a unique brazed layer diamond coating. The chain will be initially marketed and sold under the ICS® brand, and is available for use on the professional grade ICS 633F4, 101cc, gas powered chain saw and the ICS 853 and 880, large frame hydraulic powered chain saws.

Butterfly valves

GF Piping Systems has announced expansion of its large diameter size range for the Type 567 Butterfly Valve to include sizes 14-16". The new size range features a unique double eccentric off-center design and excellent chemical compatibility. The off-center shaft allows the disc to completely disengage from the disc seal, even when partially open. This results in reduced seal friction for longer service life and minimal maintenance compared to non-eccentric valve styles.

Adjustable weir

Red Valve's Weirflex creates an adjustable weir for stormwater control in combined sewer systems. The weir is a variation on the company's pinch valve principal. Instead of closing on centerline, it closes from the bottom only to create a weir that can be used to retain stormwater in a sewer line. This allows the treatment plant operator to maximize existing stormwater storage within the lines while preventing the treatment plant from being over burdened by a stormwater surge.
