DistribuTECH Exhibitor Products

Feb. 1, 2010
Event to Showcase Distributed Automation Systems DistribuTECH 2010 will provide the latest information on water utility management systems, equipment and technologies.
Tampa, FL, March 23-25, 2010

Event to Showcase Distributed Automation Systems DistribuTECH 2010 will provide the latest information on water utility management systems, equipment and technologies. The focus will be on automatic meter reading, customer information systems, energy management, security systems and much more. More than 300 exhibiting water and power companies are expected to participate in the 2010 event with many offering products specifically targeting the water industry.

While DistribuTech has historically been an electric power event, over the last few years the DistribuTECH conference committee and staff have worked hard to build the water portion of the program. With an increase in water exhibitors and attendees every year, DistribuTECH continues to grow on the water side with even more to offer.

The need to upgrade and put new technology in place is a challenge for the water industry as it recognizes there are problems with aging infrastructures that need to be addressed in the near future. Streamlining operations and turning to automation to cut costs is just the beginning for this growing industry.

The Smart Water System session moderated by WaterWorld Digital Media Editor Angela Godwin will discuss the latest automated metering infrastructure systems and how they might be applied in the water market. Papers include: "What Water Utilities Can Learn from the Electric Industry about Smart Grid," presented by Don Schlenger, Vice President, R. W. Beck, Inc., and "Defining the Technology Requirements for the Water Smart Grid," presented by Bruce Bharat, with Elster Integrated Solutions.

In the session titled AMR/AMI for Water Utilities, a series of speakers will showcase actual installations and how they have benefited water utilities.
