Sediment removal

HaloKlear now offers its sediment removal technology in a dry concentrate pack. HaloKlear DPS-DC1 and DPS-DC2 can be mixed in a tote or tank to specific concentrations by just adding water. Users no longer need to ship and store totes of liquid product. The dry concentrates can be stacked and are less costly to ship.

Pressure transmitters

Keller America's line of pressure transmitters, including the Preciseline™ and affordable Valueline™, can be used to measure pressure across filters. The Preciseline has an analog output that can be adjusted via the integral RS485 interface. The Valueline is available at a price to suit the tightest budget. Both are available with optional lightning/surge protection that includes a lifetime warranty against damage due to voltage surges.

HDPE fusion

The TracStar® 500 Series 3 is the latest evolution of McElroy's self-contained, self-propelled, all-terrain fusion machine. It is capable of fusing thermoplastic pipes from 6" IPS to 20" in outer diameter. New standard features include an indexer-mounted heater and facer, economy engine throttle setting and hydraulic clamping.

Pressure reducing valve

Singer Valve now offers it's Single Rolling Diaphragm (SRD) Pressure Reducing Valve in 6" and 8" sizes. The valve offers smooth, precise pressure control from maximum to virtually zero flow without the need for low-flow bypass valves. The effective area of a single rolling diaphragm remains constant so the bonnet is much smaller and lighter than a flat diaphragm version. A measured quantity into the bonnet control chamber always gives the same smooth movement of the inner valve through the entire stroke.

Pressure gauge, transmitters

The Ashcroft® GC51 and GC52 gauge and differential pressure transmitters offer an economical alternative to network process transmitters when a digital protocol is not required. The design features a compact NEMA 4X/IP65 enclosure measuring only 2.65" in diameter. Stainless steel wetted parts accommodate either wet or dry media. The GC51 is available in ranges up to 0-7500 psig and the GC52 offers DP ranges up to 400 inches of water.

BNR systems

Kruger's Phased Reactor technologies have over two decades of proven BNR performance in dozens of wastewater facilities across the country. At the heart of the system is a flexible yet simple operating strategy that provides aerobic/anoxic cycling of the entire process volume in a continuous flow process with no need for MLSS recycle pumping. The company's Bio-Denitro™ process uses this strategy to meet stringent total nitrogen limits with efficiency and reliability.

Water main flushing

NO-DES (Neutral Output Discharge Elimination Systems) offers a water main flushing system that does not require water discharge to the environment. The process uses a trailer mounted pumping, filtering and re-chlorinating system which circulates the water within the water distribution system. Distribution pressures and flows are maintained at all times during the flushing cycle.

Parshall flume

Primary Flow Signal's Halmi Parshall Flume flow meter is providing accurate flow measurement for open channel flows in municipal water/wastewater facilities throughout the U.S. The metering system handles excessive pipe slope or velocity conditions which can cause the traditional Parshall Flume to generate inaccurate measurements. The design is traceable to the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology, and also has a discharge coefficient that significantly reduces environment induced measurement errors.

Natural gas engines

Generac Power Systems has designed and manufactured two new gaseous-fueled engines specifically for use in several of its industrial power systems. The new Generac 9.0L engine will be used on 80kW and 100kW generators, while the new 12.9L engine will be used on 150kW through 300kW generators. The engines are designed to run on natural gas and LP fuel. Generac used stainless steel for the intake and exhaust valves to ensure durability and long life. Stellite®, a cobalt-based alloy, makes the valve seats especially resistant to corrosion and wear.

Septic tanks

The lightweight and watertight Infiltrator IM-1060™ tank is constructed of injected-molded polypropylene to provide strength in a two-piece plastic tank design. With a working capacity of 1094 gallons, the tanks are offered with the company's line of custom-fit risers and heavy-duty lids. Inboard lifting lugs ease handling concerns, while structurally reinforced access ports eliminate distortion during installation and pump-outs. The tanks can be installed with 6" to 48" of cover and are suitable for use as a decentralized wastewater tank, pump tank, or rainwater (non-potable) tank.

Sludge treatment

OpenCEL's focused pulse sludge pre-treatment systems enhance anaerobic digester performance and provide supplemental carbon addition to be used for denitrification. Using Waste Activated Sludge (WAS) from the system, digesters can produce more biogas which will be converted to energy. Moreover, biosolids output from a plant will be reduced, saving disposal costs and reducing a plant's environmental impact. As part of the lysing process, OpenCEL liberates carbon from sludge. The liberated carbon is then available as a substitute for purchased carbon such as methanol, potentially saving hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.
