MBR tank covers
Geomembrane Technologies provides retractable, structurally supported cover systems for MBR and anaerobic MBR tanks. The covers keep damaging debris out of the tanks and are custom-designed to allow removal of membrane cassettes. GTI also supplies these covers for odor control and algae control at water and wastewater plants worldwide, and they allow easy access for inspection and maintenance of tank internals. GTI's covers are designed to: prevent rainwater and debris from entering tanks; reliably capture odorous off-gases; block sunlight to control algae growth; reduce chlorine loss and disinfectant byproduct production; and disconnect and retract easily.

Reverse osmosis elements
Dow's FILMTEC™ SEAMAXX™ Reverse Osmosis elements help reduce the high amount of energy needed to create freshwater from saltwater. The enhanced membrane chemistry of the elements helps minimize pressure and energy consumption and provide reliable, long-term permeate quality for single, double-pass and interstaged desalination systems. The elements have low energy consumption (17,000 GPD) and an optimized module design, with 440 ft2 of active membrane surface and interlocking technology to help maximize the productivity of a desalination system with low differential pressure, low cleaning frequency and high cleaning efficiency.

Ultrafiltration membranes
QUA® has introduced EnviQ™ submerged ultrafiltration membranes for wastewater treatment and recycle applications as part of the membrane bioreactor (MBR) process. The membranes are designed to improve ease of operation and maintenance of MBR facilities and offer ultrafiltration quality product water with a stronger and more rugged PVDF flat sheet membrane. EnviQ's features such as reverse diffusion and air diffusers maximize scrubbing efficiency, resulting in reduced cleaning. Additionally, EnviQ lowers the total installed cost of biological wastewater treatment and recycle systems as compared to conventional activated sludge processes with tertiary filtration.

Disc filter
The Forty-X™ disc filter from Evoqua Water Technologies boasts an innovative woven polyester pleated panel design for increased treatment capacity and an ultimate barrier for suspended solids in tertiary treatment processes. The inside-out filtration design allows for a higher operating headloss capability, ensuring a more sustainable operation in terms of more throughput, better feed distribution and fewer backwash frequencies. A trash-tolerant filter panel housing helps prevent entrapment and accumulation of inorganic material. Water pressure-assisted seals and wind-safe sliding covers make accessibility and maintenance easier.

Projection software
NanoH2O has released version 2.2 of its intuitive Q+ projection software. This new version allows users to output process flow diagrams, input pass-specific membrane aging and performance, select water types suitable for projections under brackish conditions, and model silica rejection and scaling. In addition, Q+ is now available in simplified Chinese (Mandarin).

Membrane system
The Aqua UltraFiltration Membrane System from Aqua-Aerobic offers a compact, T-rack design, zero break fibers and no air scouring. The multibore fibers are made of polyethersulphone (PES) with seven capillaries per fiber for superior strength. The alternating top and bottom feed and inside-out filtration flow provide uniform filtrate and backwash flows to minimize plugging, chemical usage and cleaning frequency for longer membrane life. The membranes can be cleaned at a higher pH with the use of caustic instead of chlorine. It also provides better virus removal, 6 log for bacteria and 4 log for viruses.
