Check valve
Tideflex Technologies provides its TF-1 Check Valve, a duckbill check valve where the bill is formed into a curve that returns to a closed position every time, achieving the tightest possible seal for backflow operations, particularly at low-flow rates. The eccentric, flat-bottom design allows installation where the invert of the pipe is close to the floor. The stronger engineered spine provides long-term performance while handling water weight. When specifying the patented TF-1 Check Valve, operators are guaranteed a proven record of maintenance-free backflow prevention.

Tapping sleeve
The Triple Tap® from Total Piping Solutions is a wide-range tapping sleeve. Select one of two options: The low-range shell, which typically covers IPS through AC Class 150; and the high-range shell, which covers DIP through AC Class 200. Its design features Type-304 stainless steel construction with no-gall stainless steel bolts. The gasket is an NSF 61-registered NBR compound for water or sewerage. Triple Tap is available in diameters from 4" to 16", meets AWWA C223-13 for tapping sleeves and carries a pressure rating up to 250 psi with test to 350 psi.

Controls, variable frequency drives
Hoffman and Lamson's Rigel Controls and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) optimize the efficiency of new or existing company blower installations and offer an annual 20% savings in energy usage when compared to inlet throttling. Other benefits include SCADA-ready panels, meter-less flow control and pre-engineered design packages. Horsepower consumption is lower with a VFD than with inlet throttling, while both methods provide the same flow and pressure. By lowering only the unit speed with a VFD and not throttling, the blower output decreases, while the optimal efficiency remains the same as it was at full speed.

Calibration facility accreditation
McCrometer has announced accreditation of its Hemet calibration facility to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 through the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program, an official signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation. McCrometer is one of only six flow labs in the U.S. that has achieved this approval. Accreditation of the company's calibration test stands provides its customers the extra assurance that the calibration accuracy of the McCrometer V-Cone meter is accredited by a competent third party. McCrometer's Hemet calibration laboratory features three robust gravimetric systems and two volumetric systems.

Centrifugally cast pipe
The centrifugally cast, fiberglass-reinforced, polymer mortar pipe from Hobas is inherently corrosion resistant and easy to maintain. It has a life expectancy of 100 years or more to deliver the lowest lifecycle cost. It is ideal for a variety of installation methods, including open-cut, sliplining, jacking, micro-tunneling, two-pass tunnel, casing carrier, and aboveground. Hobas pipe has been installed in new construction applications, including storm and sanitary sewers, other corrosive environments and potable water. Contractors prefer its leak-free, push-together joints that reduce installation time and costs. Sizes range from 18" to 126" for both pressure and gravity applications.

Belt clip receiver
Part of Neptune's enhanced R900® System, the R900 Belt Clip Transceiver (R900 BCT) offers two-way communications to the R900 MIU, eliminating meter access issues and speeding up retrieval of data-logging information -- up to 96 days of historical consumption data from an individual account. Its increased RF throughput capabilities reduce meter-reading time, especially in high-density environments. Pair the R900 BCT with a handheld or Android device running Neptune's NGO™ app to maximize field time, perform impromptu service calls and address customer service issues on-site without a separate truck roll.

Butterfly Valves
Val-Matic's American-BFV® Butterfly Valves are engineered to provide long life and trouble-free performance. Continuous uninterrupted seating and the unique Tri-Loc™ Seat Retention System assures seat integrity and allows for field adjustment/replacement without the need for special tools or epoxies. A ductile iron disc available in all sizes adds strength, allowing the disc to have a smaller cross section that provides improved headloss characteristics. The valves are offered in 150B and 250B AWWA Classes with flanged end connections in sizes 3" to 144" and mechanical joint end connections in 4" to 48".
