AMR-to-AMI migration

With Neptune's enhanced R900® system, plant operators can be more proactive and productive. They can use data-logging in the field to show customers their water consumption and migrate easily with less infrastructure from walk-by to mobile to fixed network data collection. Further, users can make faster, more informed decisions to relieve customer complaints and plan for capital expenditures. They can also build onto their existing system at their own pace

Chemical dilution systems

Merlin Chemical Dilution Systems from Force Flow make it possible to easily adjust chemical strength onsite to keep metering pumps operating in the ideal speed range, regardless of changes in seasonal chemical demand. Plant operators can easily dilute to a level that allows their metering pump to operate in this range for best consistency and chemical dispersion into process. They can also save money by purchasing standard high-strength chemical then diluting onsite as needed.

Butterfly valves

GF Piping Systems has introduced its new series of butterfly valves type-578 in the dimensions DN50 to DN300, which are specially suited for chemical and water treatment applications. The newly developed glass-fiber-reinforced-plastic lug housing features high stability, low weight and good corrosion and UV resistance. Compared to metal valves of the same dimension, the type-578 valves save up to 50-percent weight due to its housing. Likewise, stainless-steel-threaded lug inserts ensure that the valve can be centered perfectly between the flanges.

UV pipe curing system

The new Anaconda UV Curing System from Aries Industries provides fast, consistent pipe lining installation with CCTV video inspection before and during the cure. The rehabilitation method uses a "light train" that emits UV light as it's pulled through the flexible, resin-impregnated liner. The light cures and hardens the liner, forming a new tight-fitting, joint-free pipe. A computer controls the speed, temperature and pressure in the inflated liner, all of which are carefully monitored during the cure.

Emergency shutoff system

The Gemini Emergency Shutoff System from Halogen adds a new level of safety to gas chlorine feed systems. Designed specifically for dual 150-lb chlorine cylinder applications, the Gemini, with its two Terminator actuators, stops a chlorine leak within seconds of detection by automatically closing the cylinder valves. The actuators are simply placed on top of the valves, and protection begins. All fire codes recognize the system as an acceptable alternative to a scrubber.

Peristaltic metering pump

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group has announced the launch of its Qdos 60 peristaltic metering pump, designed to reduce chemical metering costs compared to conventional solenoid or stepper-driven diaphragm metering pumps. The Qdos range of pumps eliminates the need for ancillaries, boosts productivity and cuts chemical wastage due to its highly accurate, linear and repeatable metering. Simple installation and easy, tool-free maintenance ensures that total cost of ownership is minimized.
