Gravel pavers

EZ Roll Gravel Pavers from NDS prevent hazardous stormwater runoff and can be used to help landscape designers and architects quality for LEED Credits. Developed as an alternative to concrete or asphalt, the pavers create an environmentally friendly, permeable surface. The pavers allow installation on a clean stone base, constructing a solid foundation for high–traffic areas (can withstand up to 52,600 psf). The pavers are easy to install and have a puncture–resistant geotextile fabric attached to the bottom of each roll, preventing rutting and particle migration. Applications include parking lots and driveways, fire lanes, golf cart paths, play areas, car dealerships, outdoor amphitheaters, woodland paths and horse trails.

Integrated tree and stormwater system

The Silva Cell is a modular, subsurface system for containing unlimited amounts of soil underneath hardscapes while supporting aboveground traffic loads. This system enables two critical ecological functions to take place: growing large, healthy trees and maintaining rainwater on–site, thereby reducing pollution, flooding and erosion from daily rainfall events. By supporting paving while creating ample space for nutritive, uncompacted soil the Silva Cell makes simultaneous on–site bioinfiltration and healthy tree growth possible. Once installed, this underground biotechnology sustains itself — the soil absorbs water from daily rainfall events, cleaning it, cooling it, and slowing it down. The tree acts as a natural pump, drawing the water up from the soil to nourish itself and eventually evapotranspire it back into the air.

pH control

The pH WatchDog™ from EcoDepot controls the pH level of periodic discharges of water by using a powder sodium bisulfate as the buffering agent. By doing so, producers avoid liquid acid and all of the safety concerns associated with using hazardous materials. The system continuously monitors, samples and treats the pH. This constant cycle allows the system to start when the pH rises to the upper limit. When enough sodium bisulfate has been added, the probe senses the pH has reached the lower limit, and the system shuts down.

CONTECH Construction Products offers the ChamberMaxx system, a corrugated, open–bottom plastic arch system for the retention of stormwater runoff. The below–grade system maximizes available land for development, and can support traffic loading for installation under parking lots and roadways. The chambers are injectionmolded using structurally efficient and corrosive–resistant polypropylene resin. In retention applications, the system effectively recharges groundwater, which can achieve reduced discharge objectives, including LID and LEED.

Spray nozzles

Toro Precision™ Series Spray Nozzles deliver outstanding performance while operating at lower precipitation rates to conserve water and reduce irrigation costs. The spray nozzles use patented Toro H2O Chip Technology — Hyperstreams of oscillating water, moving at Hyper–frequencies (200 cycles per second) and deliver a low, but effective precipitation rate of 1 inch per hour, even after radius reduction. The nozzles can apply water precisely to irrigation zones with reduced risk of saturation or runoff, all with the efficiency commonly expected from a rotor.

Erosion control blankets

Excelsior Erosion Control Blankets are made of 100% Rocky Mountain Aspen and feature excelsior fibers that are strong, durable, absorbent and greater than 6 inches in length. The fibers bond with the soil surface when moistened. Because excelsior fibers interlock and adhere to one another, they protect the soil surface. Color and thickness are consistent throughout the blanket. Choose from blankets with regular netting (either green dyed or natural) or Rapid–Go netting. The UVstabilized synthetic regular netting degrades in approximately 12 months, and the rapid photodegradable Rapid–Go synthetic netting degrades in 45 to 90 days.

AEROMIX Systems has designed the TORNADO Eco™ Aeration System, a ‘green' aeration system that saves energy, reduces greenhouse gases, and is 100% recyclable. The propeller, which was carefully researched by the University of Minnesota, contributes to its oxygen transfer performance, which has been shown to be 26% higher than a standard aerator. Partially or completely powered by solar panels and/or wind generators, the system cuts electricity consumption and may earn energy credits for municipal wastewater treatment plants.

Burst and replace water, sewer and other pipes with the Grundoburst static pipe bursting system from TT Technologies. Pulled by a hydraulic bursting unit, the cutter head's special cutting wheels split the host pipe. Patented Quicklock bursting rods are linked together not threaded. This saves time, prevents twisting and extends the life of the cutter head over threaded bursting rods. Six models are available for bursting 2–inch through 54–inch pipes and larger.
