SINGAPORE – Singapore water company Hyflux will increase its investment in the Tus Water Group by US$6.9 million to help expand existing and win new water projects in China.

Tus Water Group is Hyflux’s collaboration with Tuspark TSI, of which Hyflux Capital owns 25% and Tuspark TSI owns 75%, to hold strategic investments in water projects in the People’s Republic of China.

It was the end of June 2015 when Hyflux announced the divestment of service concession rights for five water and wastewater treatment plants in China to Tus Water Group.

China contributed 20% (S$88.1 million) to total group revenue in 2015, according to the company’s annual report.

As WWi reported earlier this year, Hyflux has been diversifying into the consumer water market, including bottled water, for stable income (read WWi story).
