LAON, France – Suez has signed a 12-year renewal of the two public service contracts for potable waterand wastewater treatment, worth €44 million, for the town of Laon in the Aisne department in France.

As part of the contract, from 2020 Suez will operate a plant producing 18Nm3/h of biogas, the equivalent of 1,500 MWh/year, from wastewater treatment sludge and will inject it into the town’s main gas network.

Bertrand Camus, CEO of Suez Water France, said that the project “combines the circular economy with the generation of green energy”.
