AACHEN, Germany - Craft beers have grown in popularity, with a wide range of tastes and ingredients but now a Belgium brewery has produced a new variety using recycled rainwater.
German water treatment company Intewa supplied its ultra -and microfiltration technology to the Grain d' Orge microbrewery in Hombourg, Belgium for the production of the new beer.
With contaminants and pollution removed from the rainwater, the produced ‘B-rain’ beer contains 6.5 vol.-% alcohol.
The idea for the beer was devised by Intewa managing director, Oliver Ringelstein, US partner Bob Drew and Belgium brewmaster Benoît Johnen.
It should be noted that the B-rain beer is currently only available via the company in Aachen.
