Modern Water has secured the first sale of its All-Membrane Brine Concentration (AMBC) technology to a textiles plant in India...

LONDON, England - Modern Water has secured the first sale of its All-Membrane Brine Concentration (AMBC) technology following the successful pilot testing announced in December 2016.

Modern Water will provide proprietary AMBC technology to treat wastewater produced by an India-based customer involved in the textile dyes industry.

The project will be executed in partnership with Advent Envirocare Technology Pvt, with the AMBC system to be built into a new facility.

Completion and commissioning in India is scheduled for mid-2017.

Modern Water said the technology allows customers to achieve “higher brine concentrations than traditional techniques”, including Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) methods, which significantly reduces the wastewater volume required for the subsequent brine crystalliser treatment.

Simon Humphrey, CEO of Modern Water, said: “When the customer’s facility is up and running, we are confident that our technology will demonstrate the substantial improvements we can offer to other industries, thereby allowing us to target new markets.”

Despite the news, the company’s shares were down 1% to 6.06 pence per share on Monday morning.
