SHARJAH, UAE - The Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority (SEWA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with consultancy Meinhardt to modernise its water supply infrastructure.
A long-term agreement is hoped to benefit Sharjah’s population of 2.5 million by 2025.

As part of the agreement, six initiatives will take place, including planning and engineering design consultancy services for the “Strategic Water Storage Reservoirs for Water Crisis Management and the capacity building for SEWA”.
Meinhardt will use its Singapore Water Training Centre as part of the collaboration.
This is the second contract to be signed by the Emirate organisation in a matter of weeks to improve its water assets (read article).
The Meinhardt partnership started following a business mission to Sharjah led by PUB, Singapore’s national water agency, in October 2015 to explore potential areas of cooperation.
