July 12, 2007 -- A Call for Papers has been issued for the 2008 Homeland Security and Defense Conference being held March 16-18, 2008, at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
This year, the conference will offer technical sessions focused on water security and seeks papers on the following:
• requirements
• light based technologies: treatments, biometrics, luminescent techniques, multiple angle optical particle size, and shape determination
• autonomous water quality monitoring based on microfluidics and lab-on-chips systems
• adapting traditional methods to meet the needs of water security
• levee and dam monitoring & security
• monitoring of process water in industry and food production
• monitoring of agricultural water for irrigation
Abstracts are due September 3, 2007, and may be submitted electronically at: http://SPIE.org/events/dss
