ATLANTA, Oct. 30, 2007 -- Ventyx™, a private software provider to the utility industry, has announced that the third largest municipal utility in Texas, the multi-service utility of The City of Garland, has successfully implemented the company's latest and most advanced customer information system (CIS)/billing solution, Customer Suite.

The City of Garland's Customer Service Department manages the billing and setup of services for the city's electric utility, as well as its water and wastewater treatment services and solid waste and recycling services, for both residential and commercial needs. In order to meet the growing needs of each of these departments and offer best-in-class customer service, Garland chose to replace an outdated CIS and billing system with a comprehensive customer management system. Garland chose the Ventyx solution suite in a competitive bid process over offerings from other leading enterprise software vendors.

"We chose Ventyx because the company had the right combination of technology, functionality and ease of use to elevate our users to the highest level of customer service available in the industry," said Bill Dollar, city manager for Garland. "We have been pleased with the results so far, and based on our successful go-live feel that the Ventyx solutions will provide a long-range platform for our future business initiatives."

"The City of Garland's choice of Ventyx solutions to support their holistic approach to customer service excellence is a perfect example of how progressive organizations realize the potential of our solutions to achieve operational excellence while lowering costs and offering exceptional customer service," said Ventyx President and CEO Greg Dukat. "More and more utilities -- as well as organizations in telecommunications, broadband and other commercial industries -- are reaching the same conclusion, offering Ventyx increased opportunities to sell our solutions into new markets and to cross-sell individual suites into our existing client base."

Garland, Texas, population 225,000, offers the atmosphere of a small town plus all the conveniences of a larger metropolitan city. Located 15 miles northeast of downtown Dallas, Garland is the second largest city in Dallas County, the 10th largest city in Texas and the 83rd largest in the United States -- a self-sustaining city covering 57 square miles.

Ventyx is a leading provider of best-of-breed software solutions which enable energy, utilities, telecommunications, broadband and other commercial field service organizations to optimize the management of their customers, workforce, spare parts inventory, equipment, tools and documentation -- empowering organizations to maximize efficiencies in their customer relationships, facilities, workforce and field service operations.
