• Exalt licensed 11 GHz Microwave Radio Systems deliver 100 Mbps Ethernet for video surveillance of the water distribution system for the town of Castle Rock
CAMPBELL, CA, Sept. 28, 2009 -- Exalt Communications, the company that is reinventing microwave backhaul, announced today that the Town of Castle Rock, Colorado, has deployed ten Exalt EX-11s digital microwave radio systems to reliably deliver video surveillance traffic that helps protect its water distribution facilities. The Town of Castle Rock is home to approximately 46,000 people and is located midway between Denver and Colorado Springs at an elevation of 6,200 feet.
"We were deploying video surveillance cameras at our wells, water distribution and processing facilities, and we wanted to build a high-speed, fault-tolerant Ethernet ring to link the video cameras with our operations center," said Gordon Tye, utilities system control network analyst for the Town of Castle Rock Utilities Department. As configured for the Town of Castle Rock Utilities Department, the Exalt radios deliver the full 100 Mbps of Ethernet with 99.999% throughput availability under all weather conditions and provide 4T1s per link.
