VANCOUVER, BC, Canada, May 31, 2010 -- BioteQ Environmental Technologies Inc., a leader in the treatment of industrial wastewater, has signed a contract for a pilot plant project with a new customer in the mining industry for a site in the US. BioteQ will be paid fees for the pilot plant design, installation, and operation, and the customer is responsible for the capital cost of the pilot plant. The work is presently underway, and is expected to be complete during 2010.

When the pilot operations are complete, the customer has the option to expand the scope of services to include design and construction of a full-scale plant, under a design-supply-transfer business model where BioteQ would provide fee-based design, procurement, and commissioning services, and the plant would be owned and operated by the customer. BioteQ would provide ongoing technical support for the plant on a fee basis.

Pilot projects enable BioteQ to prove its technology to new customers, and build a strong pipeline of potential future operating projects. This project will deploy a pilot plant to recover dissolved metal from contaminated water; the proposed full scale plant would be similar in scale to BioteQ's operation in Arizona.

"This pilot plant project contributes to BioteQ's project development goals that we set out for 2010," stated Brad Marchant, BioteQ's Chief Executive Officer. "Pilot projects are an important component of our strategy to enter new markets and secure new customers. This project is the first of two pilot plants we have set as goals for 2010, and we are aggressively pursuing additional new projects for our business development pipeline."
