SOUTHBOROUGH, MA, May 25, 2010 -- ViryaNet Limited, a leading provider of software solutions that optimize the full cycle of scheduling and dispatch processes for field service management, today announced the successful deployment at Western Region Water Corporation (trading as Western Water), one of Victoria's thirteen regional urban water corporations. Western Water provides water, recycled water and sewage services to almost 55,000 properties over an area of 3,000 square kilometers and a population of 150,000. ViryaNet's mobile workforce platform enables Western Water's field force to respond to water and sewer related customer service requests and perform emergency and planned maintenance duties. They also cover a 24/7 on-call roster and require remote access to Western Water's business systems 24 hours per day.

The successful implementation underscores Western Water's decision that ViryaNet's mobile workforce management system would best meet their 6 core business objectives:

  • Provide real time information to field staff
  • Replace printed map books of Western Water infrastructure
  • Automate manual processes associated with documentation of water and sewer service requests
  • Improve customer service by providing enhanced tools to the field crews
  • Introduce mobile computing capability across the region
  • Improve reporting timeliness, and reduce paper and manual systems

"Western Water has been excited about the introduction of this new state-of-the-art technology, which is now being rolled out across the business," said Paul Louws, Manager, Asset Management at Western Water. "It delivers new capacity and efficiencies that will service us well into the future. It will also provide improved information and knowledge to both office and field asset management teams, resulting in improved decisions being made," he continued.

"Completing an implementation is always gratifying for us." said Jim Robidoux, VP Customer Care at ViryaNet, "as our customers can now begin realizing the value that our technology affords their business and their customers."

ViryaNet's solutions successfully interfaced with Western Water's CRM, GIS and Document Management systems and have been deployed in the field on ruggedized laptops with touch screens.
