MELBOURNE, Victoria, Australia, Aug. 18, 2010 -- Black & Veatch has recently been appointed to Barwon Water's Technical Services Panel. The panel consists of six engineering companies that will provide a range of services to Barwon Water for water, wastewater and recycled water treatment assignments until July 2013. Barwon Water is Victoria's largest regional urban water corporation, providing world-class services to more than 275,000 people across 8,100 square kilometers.

The selection is another milestone in the growth of Black & Veatch's business in the State of Victoria. The company re-entered the Australian market in 2006 and opened its Melbourne office in 2008. Recent regional project work includes its appointment as part of the Eastern Tertiary Alliance that will deliver the Aus$ 380m Tertiary Upgrade of the Eastern Treatment Plant in Melbourne, the largest activated sludge plant in the country, and its participation in the detail design of some aspects of the Victorian Desalination Project. Black & Veatch was also appointed to Melbourne Water's panel of consultants during 2009.
