PUNE, India, Apr. 12, 2011 -- To meet rapid growth demands, a new terminal building is being planned at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India. To conserve scarce water resources, the new building will feature a wastewater recycling system that will treat raw sewage for the purposes of reuse.
The turnkey EPC contract was awarded to Aquatech for the 10,000 cubic meters/day waste and sewage treatment and recycle project. Aquatech will also operate and maintain the facility.
The sewage treatment plant (STP) will be based on CASS™-SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) technology followed by ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis.
The project is expected to take 14 months from design to commissioning.
