WORCESTER, MA, Dec. 15, 2011 -- ThermoEnergy Corp. (OTCBB: TMEN.OB - News) has completed installation and testing on a new Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water plant now serving a major U.S. military base at an undisclosed location in the Africa / Middle East region.

The Reverse Osmosis water recovery system pulls brackish water with high-solids content from wells that are influenced by volcanic contributions and seawater intrusion. It then processes it into safe, potable drinking water. The system will serve military and civilian personnel as a permanent water source.

The project, which began in 2009, was officially commissioned last week by the military. In ThemoEnergy's role as a major subcontractor, ThermoEnergy supplied the equipment, installation, quality assurance and testing.

"We are very proud of ThermoEnergy's efforts to contribute to the successful design and construction of a mission-critical drinking water system in an extremely demanding geological environment," said Cary Bullock , ThermoEnergy's Chairman and CEO. "We believe this project is testimony to our company's abilities, no matter how challenging the project."
