BOSTON, MA, Jan. 30, 2013 -- Veolia Water, the world leader in water and wastewater services, was honored today with four awards at the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) Conference in Boston. The awards recognize success in providing clean water, ensuring employee safety and delivering longstanding environmental service.

The wastewater treatment facility in Lynn, Mass., managed by Veolia Water, received the 2012 Water Environment Federation (WEF) George W. The Taunton, Mass., wastewater treatment facility, also managed by Veolia Water, was awarded the EPA's 2012 Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP) Regional Excellence Award. The award honors "the best of the best" industrial pretreatment programs, and goes to facilities that effectively regulate industrial discharges to their sanitary sewer systems.

George Vercelli, Veolia Water's senior capital program management project manager, received WEF's "Life Member" Award, honoring a long career of committed service in the environmental profession.

"The commitment to safety and sustainable practices delivered every day by these employees is something we hold in the highest regard at Veolia," said Laurent Auguste, president & CEO, Veolia Water Americas.
