Ventura Water recognized for water reuse efforts

Ventura Water was recognized as a leader in water reuse and desalination with an award from the WaterReuse Foundation.

SAN LEANDRO, CA, March 20, 2013 -- Ventura Water was recognized as a leader in water reuse and desalination with an award from the WaterReuse Foundation. The "Recycled Water Agency of the Year Medium" award, given at the WateReuse California Annual Conference in Monterey, Calif., recognize's Ventura Water for its use of a wastewater disinfection process from Pasteurization Technology Group that generates renewable energy. Ventura Water Wastewater Utility Manager Dan Pfeifer and Andrew Salveson, water reuse chief technologist of Carollo Engineers, accepted the award.

The WateReuse Association, California Section is the premier statewide organization devoted to sustaining supplies through water recycling and desalination. Its mission is to promote responsible stewardship of California's water resources by maximizing the safe, practical and beneficial use of recycled water. The Annual WateReuse Awards provide industry recognition for successful projects, products, and individuals that have made significant contributions to advancing water reuse or desalination. The awards typically recognize projects that advance sustainable sources of water or offer a novel approach to meeting local water needs.
