New SCADA system commissioned at OR water & electric board

Survalent Technology has commissioned a new SCADA system for Eugene Water & Electric Board in Eugene, Ore.

MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 03, 2013-- Survalent Technology, a provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Eugene Water & Electric Board, Oregon.

The new system features Survalent's open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequence, Event Data Recording, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Database Transcription, External Alarm, and Virtual RTU.

The Eugene Water & Electric Board, founded in 1911, is Oregon's largest customer-owned utility and provides electricity and water to more than 86,000 homes, business, schools, and other customers in Eugene, Ore.

"We welcome the EWEB initiative to convert their existing SCADA system from a VMS platform to a modern Windows Server operating system," states Mike Roth, Vice President of Sales for the Central United States. "The system conversion will enable EWEB to benefit of the newest product development and applications that are continuously developed by Survalent on a Windows Server platform. The new system is using new applications and features that had not been available on the previous platform."
