VA water utilities deptartment recognized for excellent performance

The VA Department of Health Office of Drinking Water award the city of Manassas Public Works and Utilities department the 2012 Excellence in Water Treatment Plant Performance award.

MANASSAS, VA, May 21, 2013 -- The city of Manassas Public Works and Utilities department received the 2012 Excellence in Water Treatment Plant Performance award by the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water, presented in Roanoke, Va.

Manassas earned the silver designation among gold, silver and bronze for excellence in performance. The Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water Recognition Program awards water systems that show prominence in operations and for the treatment and distribution of drinking water to the public. This award is earned by those water systems that go above the established water treatment regulations.
