OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, April 10, 2014 -- In order to better meet customers' need for consistency, reliability and traceability, World Water Works, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wastewater treatment solutions, announced that it is pursuing ISO 9001 quality management system certification.
The initiative calls for the company to establish, document, implement, and maintain a quality management system, and continually improve its effectiveness. World Water Works is building on its existing systems, expanding and enhancing them to conform to quality management principles set out in the standard. Following these principles -- which include a strong customer focus, motivation and support of top management, a detailed quality process approach, and continual improvement -- ensures that customers receive quality and consistent products and services.
The company is developing a system aimed at ensuring quality from receipt of first materials to delivery to a customer. Featuring a series of quality checkpoints and correction procedures, the quality management system includes document and records control, development of manufacturing processes and specific customer-related processes. Also included are production controls, process validation and materials identification and traceability.
Regular internal audits are being planned to verify that the quality management system continues to meet requirements. Vendors and suppliers will also be audited to ensure that World Water Works is supplied with quality raw materials for use in customer end products. Process monitoring and measurement and inspections will be an integral part of the entire manufacturing process. The initiative also includes the development of a written corrective action process to eliminate the cause of any nonconformities and prevent their recurrence.
