Aclara appoints new CEO and president

Aclara Technologies has appointed Allan Connolly as chief executive officer and president of the company.


ST. LOUIS, MO, May 21, 2014 -- Aclara Technologies LLC, a provider of intelligent infrastructure technologies to water, gas and electric utilities, has appointed Allan Connolly as chief executive officer and president of the company.

An operations and technology executive with broad global leadership experience, Connolly joins Aclara from a position as CEO of Culligan®, a company offering advanced filtration and water softening solutions. Prior to his tenure at Culligan, where he spent seven years in progressively more responsible leadership positions, he held executive and management roles with GE Energy and GE Global Research.

Connolly is charged with growing Aclara, a specialist in advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and the smart grid. He plans to make a fast start by identifying new opportunities that will benefit both existing and new customers.

A native of Australia, Connolly holds a doctorate in engineering from the Australian National University, as well as master of science and bachelor of engineering degrees from the University of Wollongong, in Australia.
