Western Netherlands to modernize water system with advanced meters

Itron has recently signed a four-year contract to supply water meters to Evides Waterbedrijf, a water supplier located in the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands.

LIBERTY LAKE, WA, Aug. 12, 2014 -- Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), a technology and services company, has recently signed a four-year contract to supply water meters to Evides Waterbedrijf, a water supplier located in the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands, that serves 2.5 million customers in the western region of the country.

The utility will use Itron's advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) volumetric water meters to accurately and reliably manage water delivery to residential customers.

The metering solution will enable Evides to track and use water resources more efficiently. Designed for long-term performance and reliability, the meters will help the utility maximize revenue collection over time. With this contract, Itron will supply up to 100,000 water meters per year for four years.
