WASHINGTON, DC, Sept. 26, 2014 -- The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) has announced that Julee Womack of American Water Military Services Group was selected to receive the NAWC Living Water Award for her efforts in building strong relationships between Hill Air Force Base and American Water -- the NAWC member company responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems at the base.

The NAWC Living Water Awards program, established in 2012, celebrates exemplary private water industry professionals who are "living water" through their commitment to quality, service and community. Womack, a military spouse, is described by peers as an essential member of the team who goes above and beyond to find answers to challenging issues. Her nomination also recognizes her cheerful demeanor and positive outlook.

"Julee exemplifies the true spirit of service and dedication shared by professionals in the water industry, and she embodies the qualities we look for in the Living Water Awards recipients," said Michael Deane, NAWC executive director. "Through these awards, NAWC recognizes the efforts of exceptional water industry professionals who work tirelessly to deliver clean, safe drinking water to the communities in which they serve."

James Sheridan, president of American Water's Military Services Group, added, "Julee is so deserving of this honor. As an employee located at Hill Air Force Base, for which American Water just received the contract this year, Julee has been instrumental in getting our operations up and running so we can provide excellent service to our military personnel there from day one."

As one of the 2014 winners, Womack is in the running for the 2014 Grand Prize Winner of the 2014 Living Water Awards. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on October 7 at the 2014 NAWC Water Summit in the city of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
